The home of the Ohio State Buckeyes since 1922, Ohio Stadium (also known as The Horseshoe, simply The 'Shoe and The House Harley Built), is the home of the Buckeyes football team at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The stadium was added to the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service on March 22, 1974.
H.R. Gray provided scheduling services on the $187-million renovation and expansion of the Ohio Stadium at The Ohio State University. Ohio Stadium capacity was expanded to more than 104,000 seats, making it one of the largest college stadiums in the nation.
Completed in August 2001, H.R. Gray provided overall project scheduling to the general contractor and worked in connection with the construction manager and the general contractor to develop and update an overall project master schedule, which was used to manage more than $150 million in construction. H.R. Gray was also involved in preparing look-ahead analysis to mitigate potential scheduling impacts with other contractors.
This project was considered schedule critical with the requirement to accomplish the work between the 1999 and 2001 football seasons. The project schedule was established to permit construction to be phased in order to accommodate the 2000 OSU football season to occur in the stadium.
